Meet Aida Brandes-Hargrove. She is the force behind Roy Hargrove Legacy and also Roy’s wife. As president of Roy Hargrove Legacy Aida has overseen all record releases for RHL since Roy’s passing. She is the director of the Roy Hargrove Big Band and also manages Roy Hargrove’s Crisol. Aida runs the day-to-day operations of RHL which handles Roy’s music catalog, estate matters and Roy Hargrove Legacy Publishing, as well as Roy’s social media, merchandise and the newly founded Roy Hargrove Legacy label.

Starting in 2026 Aida will be stepping back from some of the daily tasks to make room for the new, talented additions to help usher in the next chapter. Among them Roy’s daughter Kamala Hargrove, who is poised to take on a more active role, as well as Liz Torres, Sarah Williams and Camerahn Alforque, who we are excited to welcome to the team. Aida will remain at the helm and make sure operations run smoothly and with the same dedication to Roy’s music and spirit as has been the guiding principle from day one. It was his commitment to serve the music and it is ours to continue. 🎺👑❤️
